Bushnell, FL
We’ve spent the last few days just hanging around central Florida, enjoying mild temperatures compared to the cold experienced by friends and family who live in the North. One day we had the opportunity to meet and visit with Pam and Vic of the blog Travelin’ in the Big EZ. They were staying in Zephyrhills, about forty miles south of us, so we arranged to meet for lunch in Dade City.
Pam and Vic not only share our current life style of living in a motorhome, they also share many common experiences from our previous lives. Both are former educators and Vic was a middle school principal and taught history, as did John. We spent a few pleasant hours trading stories and enjoying a nice lunch at a neat restaurant, Kafe Kokopelli. We look forwarding to meeting again later this winter.
Tomorrow, Friday, we continue our trek south and head to Miami. We’ll park the motorhome on the property of a friend of a friend and on Sunday we’ll board the cruise ship Norwegian Sun for a ten day cruise in the Caribbean. We’ve never been on a cruise and are not sure this type of thing is for us, but life is all about new experiences, so off we go.
Internet access is very limited on a cruise ship so we will not be blogging for a couple of weeks. Look for a “cruise summary” upon our return . . .

Have a wonderful time. My sister cruises regularly and absolutely loves them. Me….NOT a fan. I felt confined and captive. I love the freedom of the RV and land. Looking forward to posts on this new adventure and all the ports along the way. Enjoy 🙂
That is exactly what I am worried about, Ingrid. Neither of us are real sure about this whole thing. I am more concerned about the 2000 people all in ONE space!! But since we have a free place for the RV with power, it was a chance to give it a try with friends. We’ll let know what we think real soon.

We just got back today from our back-to-back cruise that brought us from Istanbul, Turkey back to the US. Hope you find that cruising is something you like to do…the key is to find a cruiseline that matches up with your style. The Caribbean is a good place to start. The ports of call allow you to get off the ship before cabin fever sets in … enjoy the beaches. (By the way, the ship’s water is usually potable, but does have more sodium that bottled water … one of the causes of weight gain 🙂 )
