Georgia Work and Play

Now we are seriously headed to the north.  It was a nice month along the Florida panhandle but the temperature is rising so it’s time to head for cooler climates.  Monday we drove about 200 miles to the small town of Ashburn, Ga.  The park is just a few miles off the interstate and has a nine hole golf course so we spent a couple of days enjoying the golf (and the heat and gnats!).  We stayed there (Wanee Golf and RV Park) in December on our way south and wanted to return for a little more golf .

On Thursday we continued up I-75 to the north side of Atlanta to visit our son, Kevin.  When we are in the Atlanta area, we stay at Jones RV just off I-85 near Norcross.  It’s basically a gravel area with hook-ups but the location is only 15 miles from Kevin’s house.

Kevin recently had a large tree removed from his front yard and needed some help filling in the area with new plants.  Since we always end up doing a great deal of work for Jessica during visits in York, it was nice to have a chance to help Kevin out a bit.  Our car is a hatchback so we could carry many more supplies than in his Acura.  So after a couple trips to Home Depot we “dug in”.

Today (Sunday) we drove 400 miles north on our way to York.  We are parked in a Walmart in Salem, VA so someone can watch the Flyers game.  Tomorrow we’ll continue the journey north for a month visiting friends, family (yes you, Jessica), and doctors before heading west toward the Rockies in June.  Guess we better start planning a route for that trip!

Had we known you were heading to the Rockies in June (as are we), we could have saved that massive airline fee! Do you have a stowaway compartment in that vehicle?
By the way, Mr. Naysayer, have you checked the American League East standings? The season lives on.
Was that a For Sale sign in Kevin’s yard?
Looking forward to the rumble when you cross the Mason-Dixon Line.

You two getting ready to play the professional golf tour? Sounds like you have played a ton this winter/spring.
One place we haven’t done and really have no desire to do is explore Atlanta. The RV park does look a bit tight.
The yard looks great. Oh how I miss working in the flower garden. We are thrilled that you had a wonderful visit with Kevin.
Yea!!! Now a visit with Jessica. I am jealous!
By the way….How long were those pine needles? LOL
    Safe travels my friend.
